Reloading
I am looking at setting up my own reloading ...for 45 win and 300 Weatherby
Does anyone have any recommendations on equipment? I am looking for a simple yet very reliable system and the equipment has to be extremely well made. I am so sick of chinese made crap that has to be replaced ..... Buy once ,buy quality without getting ripped off on "brand" names is one of my little mottos Thanks TJ |
Re: Reloading
Single-stage presses for me...I went RCBS Rock Chucker 30 years ago...never worked with anything I thought was better. Some swear by Lee reloading dies. Some folks like the Dillon equipment, but I ain't much into progressive reloaders...

Rock chucker ..is that one at a time? i dont mind ..... for re-necking and weighing powder etc is that also the same brand I have only ever reloaded 12 gauge so this is new for me I just want to buy once and get it right...i get so sick of buying something and it breaks ...chinese made crap..its all a bloody racket Have to get myself a good scope next as well Thanks TJ |
Re: Reloading
RCBS makes about everything you will need...
I do recommend a digital scale if you plan on doing a lot of reloading and carbide dies for straight-walled cases... Here is RCBS website:http://shop.rcbs.com/WebConnect/Main...eId=webconnect |

Re: Reloading
I have a rock chucker single stage press I use for pistol ammo.
Its not as fast as my friends dillion progressive but its as solid as a rock. I load about 50 in 45 minuets or 100 in an hour---set up and powder/primeing takes time. But the running of an extra 50 is not a time hinderence. All the dies are set and off press duties done effeciently with 100. E-A |

from NZ....wish i could help you on that shotguns are winchesters and browning (my dads who got it from an old sea captain) in coromandel 1898-first browning five shot ..kicks like a mule.. I love shot guns.....and duck and pheasant quail shooting and clay bird shooting with a beer between.I come from an old farming family I have been looking at getting a "stage coach"side by side 12 gauge ,short barrell easy to swing .... I like wooden stocks so alot of the new "synthetic" guns aren't for me .... i know alot of guys go for massive rounds ..but in an "emergency" shot placement and a cool head are way more important than getting uncontrolled shots off. Thanks TJ |
