Re: GARAND
One option anyway....
Become a member of a CMP affiliated organization to become eligible to purchase one. http://www.thecmp.org/pdfs/catalogCMP2009.pdf Take care, Mod1 |
Re: GARAND
Get your AR first, cheaper to shoot than a Garand.

Re: GARAND
A Garand from the CMP will run you ~$500-$600. Ammo for the Garand is more expensive than for the AR. If you reload for the Garand, you will need to make sure you use the correct type of powder, or you will bend/break parts pretty quickly.
That being said, the Garand IS a nice piece of history. No plastic or aluminum - just wood & steel. If you don't load the clips into the rifle properly, your rifle will help you learn creative new ways to swear (following a "Garand thumb"). See: http://www.thecmp.org/m1garand.htm |

Re: GARAND
A one word title: GARAND
Thats all you need. Just one word and it practically exudes history. The CMP has a thread going on their Garand board about WHY you bought your first Garand. The responses speak for themselves as to why any firearms aficionado should have one of these in their arsenal. :coolbeer: |
