Barrett

Just curious if anybody here owns a Barrett. Was looking at this on the net. And just looking, I don't need anything that big.

Re: Barrett

So, I'm milling around the gunstore one day, well built young lady walks in with a goodsized guncase.
sets it up on the counter, she's not a big gal, but you can tell she did some serious weight training in college, guncase makes a pretty gentle 40 ish pound landing on the counter.
she opens it up, pulls out a Barret light fifty, semi auto. There are cutouts in the foam padding for two (loaded) magazines. the barret has a bipod, magnesium alloy I think.
The lady asks if now is a good time to have the hot-rod custom shop 36 power Leupold Target scope mounted.
Counter guy goes back to talk to the fifty-smith, so I saunter up and trying to look suitably UN-impressed, I ask non chalantly:
" That yer rifle?"
her reply: "yes"
Me... "nice gun, you shoot it?"
her best withering"you are a dumb ass' look, and she says This rifle cost SIX thousand dollars. the scope going on it cost two thousand dollars. YES I SHOOT THE ****ER! ANY OTHER QUESTIONS???
I nonchalantly crawled away to buy some 22 ammo.
turns out she competes regularly at thousand yard matches, has engaged targets at 2000 meters, and suffers NO FOOLS.

Re: Barrett

Even though the rounds are expensive for a 50 I don't shoot that many at one time, each one is more of an event. Most at one time with a couple of friends was maybe 30. If a couple of guys come over all the ammo we burn up in smaller caliber is about the same cost or more.

Here is a webpage with video of our BMG debauchery:

This is the weapon you need to level the playing field and ensure your personal liberty.

Just think of what they would need in order to subject you to slavery if you had this weapon... You would be able to neutralize so many of their threats they'd have to make a very hard choice on whether it's worth it to move in on YOU.
