Well, that was sure fast! I called up the AIM webpage & it showed the ammo (in nice shiny zinc plated cases). They said to call to order, with a 5K limit per customer/order. I closed the page since I didn't really >need< more 7.62x39.

After seeing TA's post...I double-checked. Yup, it's gone. I guess in the current environment, ammo availability is pretty fleeting.

Edit: After I was overcome with grief (OK, maybe not!) about AIM being out of 7.62x39, I salved my conscience by getting some (more) M1 Carbine mags. More...more...more...

.

OK, so that's $23.95 for 100, or $12 for 50. For steel-cased Berdan ammo.

$0.25 a round.

Can't wait for those dies to arrive (delayed like everything else).

Samco Global Arms still has .308. They've got 80's production Port in the battlepacks. I haven't seen that stuff in about 3 years! I picked up a case plus an additional battlepack the other day.

If you're looking for 7.62x51 (or .223) brass to reload, Scharch (Top Brass) has it available to ship. I think there's a ~3 week backorder, but they sell good stuff.

Good grief...that's not cheap either. I'm having a hard time with the fact that by the time I buy all the components and pay shipping, I'll have to load them 2-3 times before I break even on just buying throw away berdan primed new or surplus ammo...

So $276/K isn't quite the same as $80-$90/K, like in the "good old days"??

It looks like Wideners has about 6000 boxes (20 rounds each) in stock right now. Get 'em while they're hot!

"6ix" orders??? Are we doing Roman Numeral math again? Let's see...CXXM divided by M....drop the D, carry the L, plus IX to the M power....too much for my little brain.....:no_ma:

Anyway, Wideners still has 4289 boxes (20 rounds each) in stock. So far, at least.

How do you get the info on exactly how many boxes are left?

I just use my amazing psychotic powers!:confused_ma:

Actually, just load the Wideners page ( http://wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=6885&dir= ).

In the Quantity To Order box, put in a big number. They had ~6024 boxes last night, so I put in 7500 today. Click "Order"

You'll get an error message saying that they only have a certain number left, so please adjust the quantity you want.

Still at 4289, by the way....
