Reminds me of my 1st job -- when I was 14 I went to work for a company, doing odd jobs and lawn maintenance. A lot of times there wasn't a whole lot of work so my boss, a chain smoking old cuss, would dream up jobs for me. One involved the back of the company -- an unmowed portion of land -- and a "weed whip."

Suffice to say, manual tools are heavy on the exertion but effective -- even in the hands of a skinny kid.

Yep

I got pretty handy with them. I can clear about a 5 foot wide path 1 foot deep and deposit the grass/weeds in a lined up pile (Sort of)

My dad handed me one and said cut a path to the creek. Thats how it started anyway.
