I agree, I have a gore-tex jacket I've had maybe 10 years and it's as warm and wind proof as new. Getting a little worn on the cuffs, but they wear amazingly well and clean so easily, just throw them in the washer.

Same here. In fact, a year ago I gave my 10 year-old Gore-Tex jacket to my nephew as a hand-me-down to use until he grows out of it (which he nearly has already, yikes!) One cuff is a little worn, and that is from the velcro hooks rubbing against it.

I get Gore-Tex whenever I can.

There are some great military grade sleeping bags made with a Gore Tex outter shell

Plan to get one when the budget allows.

Never had anything as fancy as that, just a regular sleeping bag and a small tarp to roll up in. I'd sure like one though :emotions16:

So, did Al Gore invent this fabric?

Its great fabric I like the quiter hunting version when I am out in the woods. So I don't get heard a mile away as I am moving.

If you people are looking for some of the ECWS sleeping systems PM me I picked up about 10 at a surplus auction the bivvy sac is the gore tex woodland camo version used but in nice shape.
