Philharmonic

Some of the Philharmonics are 2000 shilling and some are 100 Euro. This seems to be the most highly numismatic value of gold 1 ounce coin. Which is worth more, 2000 shilling or 100 euro? Which is the one a person should get?

I just took a look at my modest stash and I see that the Philharmonics that are from the nineties are 2000 shilling and my newer ones have the 100 Euro. I didn't even know there was a difference until your post. I bought them for close to spot and never heard one was more valuable than the other. But I think I like the 2000 shilling ones better cause they aren't making them anymore.

What is the exchange rate for the shilling?

I believe that they are both worth the same: one ounce of gold.

I just finished searching and found on wikipedia that 2000 shillings are equal to 145.34 Euros, so the shilling Philharmonics have a higher face value.

Thanks, so in all cases of numismatic value in gold one once coins the philharmonics denominated in shillings are worth the most.

That is great. Thanks again. This coin offers the most protection of falling gold and rising fiat prices if I am not mistaking

I'm glad you picked up on this too Curt, I have more than a few Philharmonics with the 2000 shilling face value. Thats all that I'm going to buy now, 2000 shilling Philharmonics. Plus if the dollar falls more against the Euro that helps with the face value also.Good find Curtman.

Re: Philharmonic

I could be wrong but at the time the shillings where what they marked the phils with,2000 = 1 ounce of gold
where as the 100 euros = 1 ounce of gold

Saints said 20 dollars I believe
Eagles say 50
both = 1 ounce of gold

Now If either of you want to go face value I will sell all my silver and my gold at present and buy all your 1 ounce pieces of gold for face value.
PM me This large amount I'd rather be meeting face to face.

Thank-you in advance for my new found riches!!!!!:aetsch:

PS I do realize what you are saying but it won't go back to what was originaly stamped, embossed, whatever, an ounce is an ounce is an ounce...
Also please don't attack me know about maples purrer that eagles etc.
